NO LONG DISTANCE ADOPTIONS: For more information regarding our adoption area, please read our policy regarding long distance adoptions. Ms. LeRoux: I am LeRoux, Princess. No seriously. I am a Princess. I am a female 15 pound Pomeranian and I've come back to SBRET after 5 years because my adoptive father has had some serious health setbacks. While he had a plan B, sometimes it dosen't always work the way you've planned. So, he called SBRET to see if they would be able to help and, of course, they would and did. I'm currently staying with my biological brother and original foster mom. She's nice enough. He is a hyperactive pain. However, I show him courtesy as is fitting my station. I do this with the dogs in the house. They, unfortunately, do not seem to understand I am not a dog. I am a Princess. Why would anyone want a Princess? Because we are perfect. I am good on a leash. I love people, including well-mannered children. I travel well. I am a very neat. I show affection to my humans, especially the well-trained humans. I enjoy going out in public and meeting those who would show me affection. If there are no people, I see no reason to be in the elements, with a few exceptions. I do not stand and yap for no reason. I do have a schedule I feel should be followed and will make sure you remember. I am to be fed twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart. I do need fresh water in a metal or ceramic bowl available immediately following my meal. I need to have an appropriate place to take care of my personal business after my meals. I also need a soft bed in each room where my human takes care of their business as I wish to be near them. You cannot expect a Princess to lie upon the floor! That just cannot be. I will make sure you are aware of a knock on the door. If there are dogs in the home, I will let you know if they become too rowdy. Otherwise, I prefer to entertain myself with one of my toys or survey my kingdom. I enjoy affection, but being held and cuddled is not a royal activity. Because of my affection for you, I will participate, but prefer to sit beside you. You should also know as a Princess I do have some very special needs. I have a special type of food I must eat and medication to take with it. Because I am sensitive, delicate, and fragile, as all Princesses are, I need to see my physician a little more often than the common folk. I am in excellent shape. But I do not want to have a family fall in love with me only to realize they cannot care for me in the proper fashion. While I believe this is all there is to know - Princess sums it up quite well - my foster mother believes she must interject a few details. Again, because I am fond of her, it shall be permitted. Foster mother: Ms. LeRoux is a dear and she had me trained very quickly. She is demanding about her routine, but she's been well trained (but we don't tell her that). You see, LeRoux has diabetes. Her family and previous doctor discovered high blood sugars before she became symptomatic, so she is doing very well with her treatment. This is why she needs her meals approximately every 12 hours. I feed her around 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. She has no problems with her injections except she sometimes becomes too excited and spins. She knows after her insulin, she gets fed. It also means her new family will have to be very strict about what she eats. She cannot have treats. When she does well, I will give her one piece of her prescription kibble. Because she is eating a prescription kibble, takes insulin, and see her doctor regularly to check her sugar
